How to Hide Inside Eggs and Steal Them

Hiding and carrying serve different parts of the same run. Read the interaction label before holding the prompt, especially when several actions appear beside one egg.

Basic mechanics

§Separate carrying from hiding#

An egg can offer Hide Inside and Steal as different interactions. The official description connects hiding with sneaking into other players’ plots. Stealing and returning an egg to your own farm is a separate part of the loop.

Read the prompt and the egg’s displayed requirement before holding the interaction. A locked warning is a reason to change target; repeatedly selecting the same blocked prompt does not establish a way around the lock.

§Use the disguise tutorial to choose a carryable form#

The recorded tutorial opens a Disguise menu and says to tap USE to drop in as the Old Tiger Egg because players nearby can carry it. Select a form, read its preview and press USE when you want that disguise.

Later, the Void Lion Egg preview shows “800k to carry” and “1/6 here can”. Those values describe the selected form and that server moment. Choosing a form that almost nobody nearby can carry can leave you waiting for a carrier. Check the current counter rather than choosing only by appearance.

§Wait for a carrier or leave the egg#

The next tutorial instruction is “Wait for a player to carry you to their base! (or Leave Egg)”. The character appears as an egg, with Leave Egg and Lock Egg at the bottom of the screen.

If nobody picks you up, Leave Egg is the visible exit. You can then reconsider the disguise and its carryability. This guide does not promise a specific waiting time, a guaranteed carrier, or that every disguise has the same timer.

§Watch the disguise countdown#

During a later disguise, the interface says “You’re an egg! Hop around and act natural” with a countdown. Leave Egg and Lock Egg remain visible. This is a player-disguise state, and does not confirm that you own the egg or have delivered a pet to your farm.

Watch the current countdown and your surroundings. The recording shows the controls, but does not establish an unlimited disguise duration, a lock duration, or a complete list of actions that cancel a disguise.

§Recognize HATCH! inside another player’s base#

After the disguised player reaches a fenced base, the recording displays “You’re in their base! Hatch when it’s safe” and a large HATCH! control. This prompt belongs to the infiltration sequence.

Keep that HATCH! control separate from a farm egg’s Hatch Now / Skip prompt. If your goal is a pet, verify that you have carried a real egg to your own farm. The infiltration prompt by itself does not prove a pet has been added to your collection.

§What the locked-egg warning establishes#

The Bear Egg example shows “This egg is locked!” while Hide Inside and Steal prompts are visible nearby. It establishes that the attempted interaction was blocked by a lock at that moment.

Choose another target or recheck after the state changes. The available footage does not establish the lock’s exact timer, who is allowed to remove it, whether it applies identically to all interactions, or a reliable bypass. Lock Egg is a visible control in disguise mode; its presence alone cannot answer all of those questions.

§Respond to an egg-theft alert#

A red screen-edge alert in the recording names a player and says they are stealing the recorder’s Rhino Egg. A similar alert occurs for another egg earlier in the run. The warning identifies the threatened egg; it is not a confirmation that it has already been permanently lost.

Return your attention to your plot and locate the named egg or carrier before acting. A bat is visible in the hotbar, but this footage does not prove its hit range, damage or a guaranteed recovery method. Check the egg’s final placement before concluding that a theft or recovery succeeded.

§Finish the trip after stealing#

Strength determines access to heavier eggs according to the developer. Check that constraint before committing to a target on a distant plot.

After taking an available egg, return to your own farm and confirm its placement. A hiding state, a successful pickup, and a completed return are separate checkpoints. Use the farm result to judge whether the run succeeded.
